Famous architects today who have shaped the world of architecture


Zaha Hadid (1950-2016):
The first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize, she was known for her neo-futuristic buildings that defy conventional geometry and boundaries. Some of her works include the Guangzhou Opera House, the London Aquatics Centre, and the Heydar Aliyev Center.



Frank Gehry (1929-):
One of the most influential architects of our time, he is famous for his expressive and sculptural forms that challenge the norms of architecture. His iconic works include the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Fondation Louis Vuitton.



Norman Foster (1935-):
The founder of Foster + Partners, he is a pioneer of high-tech architecture that integrates engineering and design. He has designed some of the world’s most iconic structures, such as the Hong Kong International Airport, the Reichstag Dome, and the Apple Park.



Rem Koolhaas (1944-):
The co-founder of OMA, he is a visionary architect and urbanist who explores the social, cultural, and political aspects of architecture. He has designed many influential buildings and masterplans, such as the CCTV Headquarters, the Seattle Central Library, and the Euralille.



Bjarke Ingels (1974-):
The founder of BIG, he is a leader of contemporary architecture that combines sustainability, functionality, and playfulness. He has created some of the most innovative and ambitious projects in the world, such as the Mountain Dwellings, the VIA 57 West, and the CopenHill.
